A Collected Eclectic Budget-Friendly Guest Room

One of the rooms I typically like to evolve naturally in a new home is the guest room. However, with guests scheduled to arrive in the next couple of weeks {before the house is even totally finished!} and a full house of friends arriving at the end of next month, I've been putting the pressure on myself to get the room in order.

Lindsey of Sadie & Stella did a little feature on our old guest room @here...

There were a lot of things I liked happening here, however only the dresser, chair and a few accessories ended up making the trip home to Virginia after the move. I think I've got the perfect spot elsewhere in the house for the dresser, so I've been pretty much working with a leather chair and a whole lot of crickets for the past few weeks!

The headboard seemed like a nautral place to start. After much deliberation I made a bid last night on this guy...I had all these nervous feelings after my bid was accepted. What to do with a black leather headboard?? I always sort of feel like black leather trends more modern than my style, but after spying these two rooms I knew I could make it work...

Super modern headboards, but with mixed textures and vintage accents, these rooms are feeling more collected eclectic than anything else, no? And then I started looking at more pics, and realized what an opportunity I had to pull together the chicest color scheme with my new headboard and old MCM leather chair {Cognac + Black}...

So. Good. Right?? I've got a pair of black velvet curtains that we've used in 2 houses now that'll fit the window perfectly. Here's how I think it can all come together...

Throw in some crazy vintage brass accents and thrifted art and call it a day, yes?

Can't wait to pull this room together and share some more progress shots of the house ASAP! xx
